Re-Design by Recyclingbörse Herford is a new furniture brand, which produces a small series of furniture. Made by craftsmen, job creation companies, sheltered workshops for handicapped people, designers and artists Re-design furniture are fabricated only from used material. Waste prevention, reduction of CO2 emissions as well as the reintegration of disadvantaged juveniles and long term unemployed persons into the production of high quality design furniture are our main priorities. In 2008, about seven million tons of bulky waste will be sorted out in Germany. 95 percent ends at the dumping ground. Only five percent is recycled. This project uses the high amount of vintage furniture for the production of fancy furniture.
