DMY Berlin

DMY Berlin
is an international design network for contemporary product design. At the yearly DMY International Design Festival Berlin both renowned and young, experimental designers launch new products, prototypes and foresighted projects. The exhibition is accompanied by a wide program of symposia, designer-talks and workshops, reflecting current topics of contemporary design and revealing necessary future trends of design and related disciplines.

All year round, DMY presents international design exhibitions at key fairs and festivals in Europe, Asia, North and South America such as Salone del Mobile, Designtide Tokyo, Tent London and Design Miami.

Since 2012, DMY Berlin has been assigned to host the official German design award "Designpreis der Bundesrepublik Deutschland". The price has been endowed by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology since 1969 awarding excellence in product and communication design.

Joerg Suermann
is the founder and managing partner of DMY BERLIN. He is committed to Germany's international presence in the design industry, manages the festival and curates DMY Berlin exhibitions and trade fairs around the world. In addition Joerg Suermann advises companies worldwide and holds lectures as one of the leading specialists in the field of product and communication design.

Joerg Suermann was born in 1972 in Münster. In 1993 Suermann came to Berlin and worked first as a designer and video artist. As part of the experimental group Garderobe23 he obtained an international reputation with the VJ-Duo JPECH.
