Jan Koen Lomans
Brutto Gusto Galerie · Torstrasse 175 , Berlin, GermanyShow on map
Lomans’ main concern is the tactility of materials. He uses mohair and other types of wool, in black, gray and white shades, striving to convey a visible and tangible sense of materials and colours. The fine black grit absorbs the light, to brightly reappear in the white of one’s eye. One recognizes the image, which, of course is important, but the sensations evoked by fabric, shades and colours are at least evenly relevant.
