The installation „Fruit-Box-World“ relates to the alternative living culture of 1968. The shelf made of fruit boxes became a symbol for an alternative lifestyle, functional yet at the same time a creatively expressed critique on the taste of the „establishment“. Inspired by attitude and spirit of this readymade shelf as well as the constructive cleverness of wooden fruit boxes LÄUFER + KEICHEL developed the MAO CHAIR .
