For the DW! Design Weekend in São Paulo, DMY Berlin will present moods of the exhibition Instant Stories in a collaboration with William Bagnoli. The exhibition premiered at Salone del Mobile in Milan this year.
In large wooden cases, eleven designers and creative studios from Berlin have staged their works as elements of an overall story. The exhibition‘s setting has enabled the designers to seize on different aspects, attributes and concepts of their designs emphasizing its narrative quality. The designs range from biodegradable cellulose lights to an umbrella table to chairs grown out of cultivated plants.
As the format of the case-stages corresponded to the 4:3 proportion of digital images, the sceneries were preconfigured to be instantly turned into a two-dimensional, mobile and easy shareable medium. The São Paulo exhibition will emphasize this aspect of transformation and dissemination displaying the images of the project on demand via QR codes along with an excerpt of the exhibition.
