DMY Berlin

During this year’s design festival DMY rewarded the three best works among all exhibits celebrating the premiere of the DMY Awards. We are very happy to announce our forthcoming group exhibition in cooperation with Bauhaus Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung showcasing the Award winning projects along with the ten nominated works of the jury selection.

The exhibition will feature the Award winning projects: Mischer’Traxler’s “Idea of a tree”, a machine that produces vases and stools depending on the intensity of the sunshine of a day, Walking Chair’s “You may (take the public space)”, a versatile furniture that can be used as a workspace, picnic area or stage as well as “Domestic Making – a house of possibilities”, a conceptual group exhibition of the students of Sandberg Institute that raises questions of re-use and the necessity of new design in relation to our everyday life.

The festival-jury selected works due to five different categories: They picked outstanding projects that reflect upon classic design-related questions (Living Solutions/Material And Formal Research), objects incorporating the exhibition situation and letting the public interfere (Socializing Places) and finally, conceptual designs that raise general social questions while referring to the future tasks of design (System Contemplation).

The Award-winning projects and jury-selection will be showcased in the Walter Gropius’ lightflooded architecture of Bauhaus-Archive near the lovely water’s edge of Landwehrkanal.
