The Taiwan Design Expo is the first station of DMY Berlin’s overseas project ‘DMY Asia Exhibition Tour 2008′.
During the DMY International Design Festival Berlin 2008 an exclusive collection of young designers from Taiwan was presented in the DMY Youngsters exhibition.
In cooperation with the Taiwan Design Center, DMY Berlin for the first time set off for Taiwan’s tropical atmosphere to promote the continuous development of DMY Berlin’s designer representation abroad, as well as to stimulate international exchange and cooperation in the field of design.
The Taiwan Design Expo, founded in 2003, takes place annually for 16 days in varying major Taiwanese cities. In 2008 the Expo took place in Tainan. Besides national and themed exhibitions, group shows by international organisations and company presentations are shown. Focus of the Taiwan Design Expo are Taiwanese consumers, design aficionados and professionals. This year 250.000 visitors were registered.
DMY Berlin was particularly delighted to be invited to attend the festival opening, officially launched by the President of Taiwan and the Minister for Economic Affairs of Taiwan, during which DMY Berlin was officially presented.
