Redesign: Traditional Korean Paper

Redesign: Traditional Korean Paper

Designers’ LAB 3 - 7 December 2008 COEX World Trade CenterSeoul, Koreadesignfestival.co.kr/eng/index.asp

DMY Berlin, cooperational partner of the Seoul Design Festival, chose 15 designers and artists to participate in the Redesign project of Designers’ LAB, Korea. The project idea is to create new objects and concepts made out of a traditional material.
The material of choice in 2008 is the traditional Korean paper, Hanji. Rolls of this versatile, highly resistant and chemical-free paper serve as a basic material for the creation of one, or a series, of 2 or 3 dimensional objects.
DMY Berlin takes over the transport of all works curated in Berlin to their final exhibition destination at the Seoul Design Festival in Korea.

Participating designers:

ChengHangFeng, Clara Anders (SCHWARZPLUS), Franziska Schwarz, Fabian Baumann (Formfjord), Hanna Wiesener, Inbal Baron, Inken Hilgenfeld, Studiohausen - Joscha Brose, Jörg Höltje, ZABOT - Julia Lipinsky, Julian Appelius, Matthias Dietz, Nora, OH Logo, Sonja Schaub, Stephie + Barry + Laura
